May 25, Memorial Day Picnic

pic_bsktOur picnic will be held from 10 AM to noon on Sunday, May 25, at The park is located around 133 Jason Street, Arlington, MA. Jason Street runs between Mass. Ave in Arlington to Route #2 and should be entered via Mass Avenue or Gray Street. It is a residential area and the park is before there is a Y in the road.  You can see the pond from the road.

Weather

If the case of rain, we will cancel. Check here for updates. We can get “credit” for signing up for another date, if desired.

What to Bring

Blanket, sweaters, a cold salad for 8-10 people, beach chairs.  Plates, utensils, cups, coffee, juice, napkins will be provided.  We plan to have bocci ball.

Directions

Refer to the map below. If you are coming from Cambridge on Mass Avenue you will cross into Arlington Center with the big white Church and tower on the left and then the library and Town Hall.  The next light should be Jason Street and take a left.  The park is on the second long block on your right and you should see the Pond.  Walk on the path to the pond and take a left hand turn at the pond.  You will come to a large green field and on the left are two picnic benches which we have reserved.

We will set up the tables with the food.  There is a lovely walk around the pond and a more strenuous walk up into the woods and down from the rocky cliff area or avoid that area and just turn around and come back down the same way which is a little hilly but not bad.

Suggestions

Bread, rolls, tuna salad, chicken salad, fruit salad, green salads of all kinds and cookies for dessert.

Let us hope for a fair day!
