Each Sunday, our meeting features live music from a local artist. There is a wide range in genres and styles, and the performances are consistently of the highest quality.

Music for April

Here’s the April line-up:

  • April 7   Goran Daskalov  Accordion and Folk music from Macedonia and popular songs.
  • April 14  Sergio Escalera, classical piano repertoire from The Romantic Era.
  • April 21  Zura Kobakhidze and Goran  Daskalov, piano and accordion Duet.

Musicians for March 2013

More excellent musicians will be performing at ESB in March.

On March 10, we welcome back Harel Gietheim, cello, and  Kanako Nishikawa, piano. We’ve had the pleasure of listening to them on several previous occasions, and we look forward to their return.

On March 17, we will have Tamar Grader, who will perform on piano. Tamar has also played for us previously, and we are very pleased that she is coming again.

On March 24, our performer will be Nick Dinnerstein, a cellist. You can read about Nick, and listen to some of his music on his excellent .

To wind up the month, we welcome pianist Fonyue Donn on March 31. Originally from Taiwan, Fonyue (aka “Anchie”) is now on the faculty of the University of Hartford’s . We are excited to have her at ESB.

Musicians for February 2013

Our music director has lined up some outstanding musicians for programs this February.

On February 3rd, we are excited to have , who will perform on cello. A native of Brazil, he has performed in concert halls around the world. We look forward to hearing what he will play for us.

On February 10, our musician will be Suzy Giroux, voice and guitar.

February 17, Orie Furuta returns to play more jazz violin. We were privileged to have Orie last November, and we look forward to listening to more from her.

Also returning for an encore is Peter Zay,  who will appear February 24 and will be accompanied on violin. Peter is an accomplished cellist and a member of the Hartford Symphony. He will be accompanied on violin by Noemi Miloradovic.

January Musicians

To start the new year, Goran Daskalov returns on January 6. Demonstrating great versatility, he will be performing on accordion that day.

The following Sunday, January 13, Goran returns to perform on saxophone, and will be accompanied by Zura Kobakhidze on piano. Zura is currently at Boston Conservatory.

On January 20th, Zura returns for a solo performance, and on the last Sunday in January, the 27th, we will once again have Goran on saxophone.

December Musicians

We are pleased to welcome back pianist Sergio Escalera on December 2. A native of Bolivia, Sergio is an accomplished artist, equally at home with European and Latin American traditions.

Goran Daskalov

Sergio will be performing jointly with Goran Daskalov on December 2. Goran, a saxophonist, will also provide music for us on the following Sunday, December 9.

We look forward to wonderful performances from Sergio and Goran.

Musicians for Fall, 2012

On October 21, we will have Suzy Giroux, voice and guitar.

On October 28, our speaker, Susan McLucas will also be performing drumming from Mali.

November 4,  Peter Zay, a member of Hartford Symphony, will perform on  cello.

 

On November 11, our performance will be by Orie Faruta, jazz violinist.
